Welcome to the George Washington Inaugural
& U.S. Military button reference site for collectors & enthusiasts. This
sites main goal is to help people find out all the
history and information they can on 1789 or 1793 George
Washington inaugural buttons, or early 19th Century U.S.
Military Buttons. My goal is to make this information available
to everyone interested in the field of American Politicana. This site is designed to be completely
interactive, and is user friendly between the sites librarian, and the collectors who are doing research, or
seeking historical information. The Various George Washington Inaugural Buttons are displayed by each of
the 26 known Varieties, which in-turn contain the 37 known Sub-Varieties. Finding your button, or the one you
are researching should be easy with our picture reference layout. This site's main goal is to give the
clearest possible images, and correct information so making identification, and matching buttons in our archives
is straightforward, and
uncomplicated. Over the last 20 years, the influx of new treasure hunter finds with Metal Detectors has turned up
an unprecedented & undocumented number of George Washington inaugural buttons,
as well as early U.S. Military buttons. This site
will allow for these new buttons to be properly documented
by just sending in an e-mail with an image of the
obverse and reverse. If your fortunate enough to have a
collection of early military buttons or your a custodian of a 1789 or 1793 George Washington inaugural button that is not shown in
our historical library, we ask that you please add to
our library to help make it complete, and more enjoyable
for everyone. By the way, there is a real feeling of
satisfaction and pride when you have contributed and can
come to our library and see you button with your name
underneath and relevant information underneath. With
your help, we can make this web site's library a
valuable tool for America's future historical button collectors.
